Service status

The address https://lanka.bot/status shows whether Lanka works: whether bots answer and whether jobs run. You can connect it to your own monitoring, for example UptimeRobot or Better Stack.

What the address returns

The answer is JSON:

status is the worst state among the parts. checked_at is the time of the check. Lanka checks at most once every 15 seconds, so there is no point in asking more often.

Parts

• bots: bots answer visitors. They process messages, pauses, reminders and fetch requests. It is the main sign.
• jobs: jobs run on schedule.

What the states mean

• ok: it works.
• degraded: it works with a delay. A bot answers, but more slowly.
• down: it does not work. Messages and jobs wait until Lanka recovers.

While no part is down, the address answers with code 200. If at least one is down, the code is 503. So for simple monitoring it is enough to check the response code.
